Settings
Settings is the back office where the owner sets up the trucking company once — its legal name and safety numbers, its logo and invoice wording, its tax rates and pay formulas, its customs brokers and rate agreements, who on staff can touch what, and which outside services (QuickBooks, email, PC*Miler, BorderConnect) the business is plugged into — so every other screen in the system stops asking and just knows.

What happens on its own.
The work nobody does. These run in the database rather than the browser, which is why they still happen when someone forgets, closes the tab, or was never told they were supposed to.
Activity is stamped on every settings save
After a successful save the page names exactly which facets moved — "company profile", "operational settings", or "company profile + operational settings" — and writes a line like "Jane Doe updated company profile + operational settings for
A separate branding record fires only when branding actually changed
The page compares the five branding entries against their pre-save values and records a branding-changed event against the company only if one of them moved — a deliberately narrower signal than the generic activity line.
Custom-field changes write their own audit lines
Creating, updating or deleting a custom field each writes a custom-field activity entry naming the user and the field. Renames are specifically noted as noteworthy because they orphan previously stored values. · ·
GL account archive and reactivate write billing audit lines
, including the written archive reason, because hiding an account from new transactions is regulatory-significant. ·
